Agios Ioannis – Krousia – Drakolaki Cave
Starting from the village of Agios Ioannis we follow an upgoing trail marked in green-white, on rocky terrain along a ravine. The first small plateau we meet is called Rovithe and then a bigger one follows called Kroussia. The latter one can be also reached through a steep dirt road from Agios Ioannis. From Kroussia we continue eastwards on a trail not always clear but marked with cairns (stones).
The cave is one of the longest in Greece but it is recommended to enter only if you have basic knowledge of speleology and cerainly not in rainy weather.
The hike from Agios Ioannis to Drakolaki Cave takes about 2.5 hours.
Good hiking boots are recommended.
It can be combined with geocaching, the treasure hunt game.
