SATURDAY 2nd -SUNDAY 3rd
Mt Psilorotis

From Kouroutes village, at 500 m on the southern foot of Mt Psiloritis, we get to the area of Pardi, at 700 m on s small truck. Then we hike up to the Toumbotos Prinos refuge of the Mountaineering Club of Rethymnon, at 1400 m, where we spend the night. On Sunday we climb up to Timios Stavros, altitude 2456 m, the highest peak on Crete. We return to the refuge and then we follow a trail across a forest to Fourfouras village, at 600 m. A hike for experienced and well equipped hikers.
SUNDAY 3rd
Koritsi – Vromonero

We start our hike about 2 km away from the church of Agia Marina on the way to Nida Plateau, at 1300 m. We follow a path and a dirt road down to Koritsi Plateau and Vromonero Forest and we end our route at Agia Irini Nunnery, at 650 m. This route is easy and suitable for beginners and children accompanied by their parents.

Achentrias – Tourkou Lakos -Tsoutsouras

Our hike starts from Achentrias village up to an area called Tourkou Lakos, where the only natural lake on Asteroussia Mountains is situated. Then we go down along an old paved trail passing by a couple of fresh water fountains until the small palm forest of Agios Nikitas. From there we head eastwards along a short dirt road to the settlement of Maridaki and along a beautiful trail along the coast to the village of Tsoutsouras.

Sitia – Zakros – Ziros

Starting on Saturday morning we spend three days in the beautiful area of Sitia, in eastern Crete, hiking around. We also have the chance to see the Carnival celebrations in Sitia.
SUNDAY 24th
Mt Tsivi

Tsivi is a peak on Dikty Mountains,to the east of Lassithi Plateau and to the west of Katharo Pateau. We start our hike from Damakas, at 1100 m, on the way from Kritsa village to Katharo Plateau. Our route goes across a small forest of prinos trees (Quercus coccifera) and then up the slope to the top, at 1664 m. On the way back we follow the same route.
SUNDAY 31st
Anogia – Roussa Lake – Zoniana Gorge -Zoniana

We start from Anogia village, at 750 m, and we hike along a path and a dirt road to Roussa Lake, one of the biggest Prinos tree forests (Quercus coccifera) on Crete. Then we go down into the Gorge of Zoniana, a mild gorge in an outstanding natural environment. At the end of the gorge we reach Zoniana village, at 630 m. The Mountaineering Club of Rethymnon participates, too.
