Komitades, Sfakia
Sunday, September 20th, 2026
We start from the historic Church of Panagia Thymiani in the village of Komitades, Sfakia, also known as the Agia Lavra of Crete.
We follow the wild coastline of Komitades along a trail that is unknown to most people, passing by Byzantine churches, caves, and various sites of historical and folkloric interest. Along the way, we have the opportunity to swim at wonderful and unique beaches. The landscape is characterized by particularly interesting geological features.
Our hike finishes in Chora Sfakion, where we have time to stroll around and enjoy a meal.
This is an easy hike, suitable for everyone, and it is being organized by the Club for the first time.
Payment must be made to one of the EOS Heraklion bank accounts, and the bank deposit receipt must be sent to the Club’s email: info@eos-her.gr
