Choustouliana – Apesokari – Agia Paraskevi – Miamou

Sunday, November 2nd, 2025

A hike along an ancient historic trail, once the main route connecting Lentas with Miamou and the Messara Plain. Until as recently as the 1970s, locals used this path with their donkeys to reach their fields. Today, we follow in their footsteps along a trail that has been recently cleared and restored.

Our hike begins at the village of Choustouliana (190m), in the heart of the Messara Plain, among centuries-old olive groves. Following the old path, we reach Apessokari (155m), a village at the foothills of the Asterousia Mountains, offering a fine view over the plain. From there, we continue toward the small chapel of Agia Paraskevi and end our route in Miamou (505m), on the western slope of central Asterousia — a place with a long and rich history, inhabited since the Neolithic period (4000 BC).

This hike is being organized for the first time by our Club.
