Voriziano Gorge – Psiloritis

Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st September 2025

A different traverse of Mt. Psiloritis, designed for experienced mountaineers in excellent physical condition.

From Vorizia (540m) we ascend through the Voriziano Gorge, reaching Koutsounares and Akollita, where we will spend the night at Kostas Kampourakis’ mitato (shepherd’s hut). Tents, sleeping bags, and any other overnight gear will be transported by trucks to the mitato, where food and water will also be available.

The next day we climb to the summit of Psiloritis, Ida (Timios Stavros, 2456m), descend to Skaro Nero, and follow the trail down to Kamares (586m).
