Sougia – Domata – Agia Roumeli

Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th October 2025

Hike along the most beautiful, yet also quite demanding, section of the European trail E4 in Crete. This long coastal path with its successive altitude changes is suitable for experienced hikers and offers landscapes of enchanting beauty.

On Saturday, before dawn, we depart from Heraklion for Sougia. Shortly after our arrival, we start hiking on the E4 towards Domata, where we will enjoy the sea at the unique beach and spend the night. A small boat will bring us water supplies.

On Sunday, early in the morning, we continue our hike from Domata eastwards, following the coastal E4 trail, with the highest point at 350 m, until we reach Agia Roumeli. From there, we board the ferry to Chora Sfakion and then take the bus back to Heraklion.
