Prasses – Askidiano Gorge

From the village of Prasses, Chania (520m), we begin our circular hike through the villages of Eastern Selino, Chania.

We first descend into the Askidiano Gorge and then ascend to the village of Platani. There we encounter the old Stratolate trail, also known as the Royal Route, which once connected Chania with the province of Selino. We continue to Agkavanes, where we find the abandoned village of Askidia (480m). Following a path through a forest of chestnut and plane trees, we return to Prasses.
