Paximadia Islets
Sunday, 21st September 2025
Locals from Messara often refer to them as the “Little Elephant,” since from the Messara plain, they resemble a reclining elephant lying on the water. They are separated by a narrow sea channel called Bogazi, and their total length reaches 3 kilometers.
On Sunday morning, we depart by bus for Kokkinos Pyrgos. There, we board a boat and set off for Paximadia. On one of the two islets, we will take a short hike to its summit and then head to a beach on the islet for swimming and food.
Finally, with the boat, we will circle both islets before returning to Kokkinos Pyrgos, where the bus will be waiting to bring us back to Heraklion.
Due to the limited number of participants, please ensure your prompt registration. We also reserve the right to cancel the excursion in case of unfavorable weather conditions (strong winds).
Payment must be made to the IBAN accounts of EOS Heraklion, and a deposit slip must be sent by email to notify the Club.
