Skinakas Observatory

Saturday, September 13, 2025

A special outing that combines a short hike on the mountain with the science of Astronomy.

After a 4-hour hike, our steps lead us to the Skinakas Observatory, where we have the opportunity to tour the facilities and the 1.3m telescope dome, learn about the history and research of the Observatory, discover the latest achievements in Astrophysics and Astronomy, and see how the Observatory of Skinakas has contributed to them. At the same time, we can observe the sun through a special solar telescope.

This is a unique opportunity for participants, both young and old, to connect with the mysteries of the sky and our solar system and to embark—at least in imagination—on a journey through space.

Get ready, sit back, fasten your seatbelts. Our trip through the sky in our imaginary spacecraft is about to begin! Children will take the role of chief astronaut!
