A hike on Mt Thrypti, eastern Crete for fit hikers with experience on rocky off-trail terrain.

Following the E4 trail, we start from the village of Monastiraki, at 180m a.s.l. and hike up to the village of Thrypti, at 860m. We leave the E4 trail and follow an old trail leading us to the highest peak of Mt Thrypti of Afendis, at 1476m.

We continue on rocky terrain heading south, reach the pine forest of Schinokapsala, and end down at Achlia Beach.
