b. Agios Andreas – Syggelou Tower – Petres River
Sunday 19th May 2024
A circular hike that starts and ends in Agios Andreas village, near Rethymnon.
Following dirt roads and paths, we come to an area full of plane trees and much water. A bit later we reach the Venetian-Turkish tower of Syggelou.
We continue down a small forest of oak trees to the small river of Petres. We move along it admiring the landscape until we end back in Agios Andreas village.
A second pair of shoes is recommended because there is a lot of water in the river, which we cross several times.
