Anopolis, Sfakia – Pachnes Peak
Saturday 30th April – Monday 1st May 2023
A three-day trip in western Crete combining the sea and the mountains.
On Saturday the bus takes us to the area of Sfakia, we stop for a swim at Iligas beach and later we reach our destination, the village of Anopolis, at 600m a.s.l. Then we go to a hike in the pine tree forest and admire the view over the Libyan Sea.

On Sunday, small trucks take us up to a spot called Rousses, at 1900m. Then we hike to the highest peak in the White Mountains, Pachnes, at 2452m. On the way back we hike all the way down to Anopolis, at 600m.

On Sunday we start from Ai Yannis and hike down to Aradena Gorge and the small village of Livaniana. Then we follow the coastal E4 trail to LYkos, Loutro, Sweet Waters Beach, and, finally, Chora Sfakion.
