White Mountains
Saturday 18th – Sunday 19th September 2021
A circular hike in the heart of the White Mountains in western Crete. For experienced and fit hikers.
On Sunday afternoon we depart for Anopolis, Sfakia, where we spend the night in rooms.
On Sunday morning, small trucks take us up to a spot called Roussies, at 1900m a.s.l. From there we hike to the highest peak of the White Mountains, Pachnes, at 2452m.
Then we move westwards onto two more peaks, Mavro Gourgoutho, at 2435m with a panoramic view to a sea of peaks, and to Bournelos, at 2342m.
Our hike ends back in Roussies, where the trucks take us back to Anopolis.
