An easy hike free for all those who enjoy nature and culture. It is organised by both the Mountaineering Club of Heraklion and the Municipality of Heraklion.
We start from the beautiful village of Mochos, at 390m a.s.l., and hike down along a very old stone-built trail offering great views over the northern coast. At the end of the hike, the bus takes us to the Archaeological site of Malia, where there is a guided tour (in Greek). We end our day at a nearby beach for a swim or a meal.
The total length of the hike is 6 km. It is suitable for beginners and children accompanied by their parents. Good hiking shoes are necessary.
