A two-day trek for fit, well-equipped hikers.
On Saturday morning we set off to the village of Anopolis Sfakion in western Crete. Small trucks take us up to Roussies at 1900m a.s.l., where we start our trek. We hike up onto the highest peak in the White Mountains, Pachnes peak, at 2,453m. Then we go down to Katsiveli Refuge, at 1,970m, where we spend the night.
Early on Sunday morning, we hike up to Svourichti peak, at 2,356m to enjoy the view of several peaks around us. We continue to Mesa Soros peak, at 2,349m and Sternes peak, at 2.335m. In the end, the trail gets us back to Roussies.
