A hike along Kollita Farangia, meaning twin gorges, in Rethymno Prefecture.
We start from the village of Moundros, we cross the Velonado gorge till the village of Velonado and then we enter the Kato Poros gorge, which is parallel to the first one and full of trees. Its characteristic feature is the spot where it gets impressively narrow and imposing.
We continue to a place called Five Virgins with a small Byzantine church, numerous excavated Roman tombs belonging to ancient Lappa and a huge platan tree. We end our hike in the beautiful village of Argyroupolis.
