Mt Psiloritis in fullmoon

Saturday 5th – Sunday 6th August 2017

We start our hike early in the evening in the moonlight from Lakkos Mygerou, at 1550m, on the northern side of Mt Psiloritis (or Mt Ida). We follow an up going,  well-marked trail and we reach the highest peak, Timios Stavros.

We spend the night on the peak in our warm sleeping-bags and in the morning we admire the sunrise from the highest point of Crete. Then we move off trail southwestards to Stolistra peak, we reach Agios Antonios chapel and crossing the Platania gorge we end in Platania village.
