Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th March 2017
A weekend in beautiful and historic places in western Crete.
On Saturday we hike along a recently maintained trail along a ravine from the village of Laki, at 450m a.s.l. to Omalos Plateau, at 1080m, where we spent the night.
On Sunday we hike from Omalos Plateau to Koustogerako village, at 520m, having on our side the Gorge of Agia Irini. It’s a 10-km hike among pine trees. Then we continue to Polyfimos Cave, a place where Ulysses passed by on his way to Ithaca. Hiking further towards south and having great views over the Libyan Sea we meet the E4 coastal trail that leads us to Sougia beach, where we end.
