Apezanes – Trypita

An easy hike in the south of Heraklion Prefecture, suitable for newbies and children accompanied by their parents.

We start our day with a guided tour (in Greek) to the archaeological site of Ancient Gortys.

Later the bus takes us to Apezana Monastery, where we start our hike. We pass-by Vigla, where we can see  Messara valley below our feet and Mt Psiloritis at the background. Then we go down, past the small Apezana woods and we end in the village of Apezana.

If there is time, we may go for a swim at a nearby beach.
