Ornio – Venizelos – Malotira Peaks

Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th September 2016

A circular off-trail hike overviewing all the NW part of the White Mountains and the Northern coast of Crete. This demanding hike is addressed to experienced and quite fit hikers.

We set off on Saturday afternoon and reach the village of Therissos near Chania, where we spent the night. On Sunday morning small trucks carry us to a higher point, where we start our hike. We reach the three peaks: Ornio at 2139m a.s.l., Venizelos or Mavri at 2170m and Malotira at 1980m. Then following a different route we return to the starting point and trucks carry us back to Therissos.

This hike is organised for the first time by our Club.
