Kapetaniana – Agios Ioannis – Salamia – Kapetaniana

A circular hike following old paths in Asteroussia Mountains in the south of Heraklion .

We start from Kapetaniana village, at 800m a.s.l. and go down to Agios Ioannis, at 50m, where we visit the old byzantine monastery. If someone wishes to stop here, it’s possible to return to Kapetaniana in small trucks.

The hike goes on along a costal path to Salamias beach. From there we go up to Kapetaniana again following a different route.
