Kavousano Gorge
Saturday, April 25th, 2015
This week our hike is re-scheduled for Saturday instead of Sunday due to the Run Greece Race. So, on Saturday, April 25th, we are crossing the Kavousano Gorge in the south of Crete near Viannos and Kertokambos.
The Kavousano or Skotino Gorge is a small gorge with beautiful reddish walls made of solid limestone. It’s well secured, suitable for beginners. There are 22 rappels, the longest of which is 22m.
There will be plenty of water inside at this time of year, so a good neoprene outfit is recommended.
We end our crossing in Keratokambos, where we can swim in the sea.
