Anopolis – Pachnes Peak -Trocharis peak – Ammoutsera

Saturday 26th – Sunday 27th September 2015

A hike for fit and experienced hikers on some of the highest peaks in the White Mountains.

We set off on Saturday afternoon to Anopolis, Sfakia where we spend the night in tents or rooms.

Early on Sunday morning small trucks take us up to Roussies, at 1900m a.s.l. From there we go up to Pachnes, the highest peak in the White Mountains, at 2453m. Then we go to Katsouna, at 2,305m, Trocharis, at 2,40m, Thodoris, at 2354m, Mavro Baloma, at 2,274m and Xerolimni, at 2230m. We continue a steep route downwards until we reach Ammoutsera, where the trucks take us back to Anopolis.
