74th Pan-hellenic Mountaineering Event – Mt Psiloritis
Saturday 19th – Sunday 20th July 2014
Once every year all Greek mountaineers meet on a mountain on the day celebrating our patron Prophet Elias. This year this event is organised in Crete by the Mountaineering Clubs of Heraklion and Rethymnon.
On Saturday there are gretings and gift exchange between the Clubs by Ideon Antron Cave. Then dinner and a fest follow by the small church of Analipsis. We spend the night in tents on Nida Plateau (1370m).
On Sunday we all together hike either to Mt Psiloritis summit, Timios Stavros, at 2456 a.s.l. or to Kamaraiko Cave, at 1700m. The event ends a t 17.00.
