On Sunday morning, we continue along the coastal E4 trail from Domata to Agia Roumeli, reaching a high point of 350m. From there, we board a boat back to Sougia and then return to Heraklion.

We begin from the Nida Plateau (1450m), follow the E4 mountaineering path to the summit of Psiloritis (Timios Stavros, 2456m), and descend southwest to the EOS Rethymno mountain shelter, Toumbotos Prinos (1400m). Sunday 26th
Kato Symi – Lapathos – Karydi – Mythoi
Leader: Giannis Antonakis • Hiking time: 7 hours • Difficulty level: 2
We begin just before the sanctuary of Hermes and Aphrodite (1040m), which we visit. We then gradually ascend to the Lapathos plateau (1300m), pass the old church of the Holy Apostles (1260m), and then descend to the village of Mythoi (200m), passing through the settlement of Karydi (740m) along the way. Most of the route crosses pine and holm oak forests, following mainly off-trail terrain—but over gentle ground—along with dirt roads and a few stone-built paths.
