Sunday 3rd

Vamos – Gavalohori – Xirosterni – Litsarda – Vamos

Starting and ending in Vamos, we explore five beautiful villages in the Apokoronas region of Chania. As we walk through their narrow streets and old mansions, we travel back in time, encountering legends and stories, discovering traditional rural activities of past eras, while being surrounded by the aromas of nature.


Saturday 9th

Moonlight Gathering on the Highest Peak

“My bright little moon, shine so I can walk, to climb up the mountain…”
The August full moon will find us joined by other Mountaineering Clubs of Crete on the island’s highest peak, Timios Stavros, at 2,456m on Mt Psiloritis, where we’ll enjoy its magic, being bathed in its light.


Sunday 24th

Falasarna – Balos

A hike through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Western Crete. From Falasarna, we hike to the stunning beach of Balos, following a trail that includes a few exposed sections but offers breathtaking views. Meanwhile, the rest of the group takes a boat from Kissamos, visits the uninhabited island of Gramvousa with its fortress, and disembarks at Balos to enjoy the sea. Both groups meet at Balos and return together by boat.


Tuesday 26th – Saturday 30th

Imvros Island – Istanbul

A five-day trip to the Turkish island of Imbros and a quick tour in Istanbul.

Imvros Island – Gökçeada in Turkish – is located in the northern Aegean Sea, at the entrance to the Dardanelles. It belongs to Turkey, has an area of 279 sq. km, and a population of 10,721 (as of 2023), about 700 of whom are Greek. The capital of the island, Panagia, is home to the Holy Metropolis of Imvros and Tenedos of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The island is mainly of volcanic origin, and its highest mountain, Prophet Elias (205m), is an extinct volcano. The houses are generally small and simple, built with stone, mud, wood, and tile, and the streets are cobbled.


Sunday 31st

Krotos – Trafoulas – Lentas

Leader: Nikos Apostolakis  •  Hiking duration: 6 hours  •  Difficulty level: 2

Our hike begins just past Vasiliki, on the road to Krotos. Walking along a dirt road, we pass through the Trypiti Gorge, stopping at the beach of the same name. Continuing on dirt road, we cross the Trafoulas Gorge, known for its climbing routes, with another stop at the beach. Finally, via trail and dirt road, we reach Lentas.
