Azilakodasos – Krasi

An autumn hike in the Azilakes forest at the foot of Mt Selena.

We start our hike from a spot called Chamoprina 4 km south to Malia at 350m a.s.l. We follow a well preserved and marked trail that leads us up into the forest, Azilakodasos at 1000m. It is a forest of Quercus ilex that is found only in Crete and some Aegean islands. We end our hike in Krasi village, at 600m.
