Boriano and Kydoni Gorges

An easy circular hike on a well-preserved trail in the shade of big trees in western Crete.

We start from the village of Koranou, Chania, we go down the Boriano Gorge and at the end of it we enter a parallel one, the Kydoni Gorge. We follow the trail past a very old olive grove and the small chapel of Agios Dimitrios with parts of old frescoes. We end our hike up to the village of Karanou again.

This hike is suitable for beginners.

After the hike we plan to visit Ancient Aptera and go swimming at a nearby beach.
