Kalikratis – Manika Plateau – Skaloti Gorge

A hike in the wilderness of western Crete mountains.
We start from the picturesque village of kallikratis, at720m a.s.l. heading south along goat paths. After passing the highest point at 930m we reach the Manika Plateau, a place of sheep and goats, at 720m where we visit the old ruined settlement. Then we hike down a steep path to enter the Skaloti Gorge, which leads us to Skaloti village, at 165m.
Then the bus takes us near Frangokastello for a swim or dinner at the local taverns.
