Sitia, eastern Crete
Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th – Monday 14th March 2016
A three-day trip to the far east of Crete, in the beautiful area of Sitia.
On Saturday we cross the green and beautiful Agii Pantes Gorge, which starts from the village of Skopi and ends at the seaside. We spend the night in a central hotel.

On Sunday we walk the coastal trail from Kato Zakros to Xerokambos, one of the most beautiful and exotic places on Crete. On the way we have nice views to the sea and the wild rocky coast. In the evening we celebrate Carnival all together at the hotel.

On Monday, Orthodox Ash Monday, we visit the Palm Forrest of Vai and hike to Itanos antiquities.

Then we visit the easternmost point of Crete, Cape Sidero with its chapel, lighthouse and hidden beach. We celebrate Ash Monday in the Greek traditional way and we return to Heraklion in the evening.
