Erganos Gorge – Clean-up

Canyoning in Erganos Gorge for those who have attended the respective EOS Heraklion canyoning schools or have some prior experience in canyoning.

Once a year, volunteers from EOS Heraklion, together with volunteers from other clubs, organize a clean-up in one of the gorges so that we can continue to enjoy our beloved nature. This initiative, apart from being practical, also aims to raise awareness and strengthen the interaction of the local community with the natural landscape.

This year, the clean-up will take place in the beautiful Erganos Gorge. Open along most of its length, it closes towards the end, offering 7 large abseils, the highest of which is 25 meters. Usually, it carries water until the beginning of summer. The rock formations created by the water are truly impressive.

It is advisable to bring garden gloves for the clean-up and reinforced garbage bags. The gorge is dry and cool at this time of year.
