Afrathias – Matala

A day dedicated to some of the finest beaches in our region.  A hike that was postponed due to high temperatures last month.

Our route follows the coastline, with stunning views of the blue Libyan Sea and the Paximadia islets.

Starting from Afrathias Beach, we head toward the village of Kalamaki, where we make our first stop. We then continue to Kommos Beach for a second stop, and from there we move eastward and end up in Matala. An optional visit to the Red Beach (Kokkini Ammos) is also possible.

Participation fees must be paid to the IBAN accounts of the Heraklion Mountaineering Club (EOS Heraklion), and proof of payment must be sent via email to the Club.
