b. Chamoprina – Azilakodasos

A nice hike in the Azilakes forest at the foot of Mt Selena.

We start our hike from a spot called Chamoprina 4 km to the south of Malia at 350m a.s.l. We follow a well-preserved and marked trail that leads us up into the forest, Azilakodasos, at 1000m. It is a forest of Quercus ilex that is found only in Crete and some Aegean islands.

We continue our hike on the outskirts of Selena and following a round route along a dirt road and a path we meet again the path that leads us to our starting point at Chamoprina.

Track length: 13 km, Altitude difference: 600m

*All participants have got to present a negative rapid test or a vaccination certificate and wear an FFP2 face mask on the bus.
