Ai Giannis, Sfakia

Saturday 26th – Sunday 27th August 2017

A two-day trip in beautiful surroundings that combines the sea, the mountains and camping.

We set off on Saturday morning towards Sfakia, have a stop at Iligas Beach for a swim and then reach the village of Ai Giannis at 780m a.s.l. We go hiking along a three-hour circular route with mafnificent view to the southern coast and the Libyan Sea. After we return we put up our tents and have dinner.

On Sunday morning we start from Ai Giannis, go down to Aradena Gorge and then up to Livaniana village. Then we  pass by Lykos beach and reach the picturesque village of Loutro. We continue along the coastal E4 trail, past Glyka Nera beach and end in Chora Sfakion. Of course swimming is in our palns, too. If someone wishes to stop at Loutro, there is the possibility of getting to Chora Sfakion by boat.
