Diplori – Rouvas Forest – Zaros Lake
A hike on a mainly rocky terrain that follows this badly signed part of E4 European Trail. The first small part on a dirt road offers great views over Rouvas Forest. Then a steep and vague trail leads down to Agios Ioannis chapel crossing the magic Quercus coccifera forest. After Agios Ioannis the trail follows the classic route crossing the Rouvas Gorge until down Zaros Lake.
In Agios Ioannis there is drinking water, picnic facilities and a building that is always unlocked and can serve as a shelter in an emergency.
Hiking boots are recommended.
The hike can be combined with geocaching, the treasure hunting game.
