Saturday 1st – Sunday 2nd
Rock climbing and hiking in Agiofarago

This weekend offers older and younger climbers the opportunity to visit the famous Agiofarago. Our members, who are experienced rock climbers, help everybody get to know the exciting sport of rock climbing. Agiofarago also offers easy hikes along the bottom of the gorge and on its slopes. The brave ones can visit Vourvoulitis and try to swim in it. Our hike starts from and ends in Kali Limenes.
Sunday 2nd
Mt Psiloritis

From Livadia village we reach the refuge in Lakos Mygerou, at 1700m. We start our ascent on a well-built, signed trail and later we join the E4 trail by Agathias, until the highest top on Crete, Timios Stavros, at 2456m. We follow the same route down.
Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th
Agia Irini Gorge – Sougia Beach- Paleochora

We set off on Saturday afternoon to Omalos Plateau, Chania, at 1080m. At a point called Seliniotikos Poros we start crossing the beautiful Gorge of Agia Irini. We end in Sougia Beach, where we spend the night. On Sunday morning we start out hike along the coast westwards to Paleochora. On the way we cross the Lissos Gorge and we visit Lissos archaeological site. We also stop for short swims. People who do not wish to join the hike on Sunday can spend the day in Sougia and go to Paleochora by bus in the afternoon, where they join the rest of the group.

Prassano Gorge

A beautiful gorge to the south of the city of Rethymnon. Our hike starts on a dirt road near the village of Prasses. Then we cross the gorge heading north and we end in the village of Platanias, a suburb of Rethymnon.

a. Samaria Gorge

A hike along the famous Samaria Gorge. We set off on Saturday afternoon to Omalos Plateau, Chania, at 1080m, where we spend the night. Early on Sunday morning we enter the Samaria Gorge and in the afternoon we get out at Agia Roumeli village by the sea, where we spend the night either in rented rooms or tents. Monday is free for swimming, sunbathing or short hikes nearby. In the afternoon we get the boat to Chora Sfakion and the by bus back to Heraklion.
b. Trekking in the White Mountains

We set off on Saturday afternoon to Omalos Plateau, Chania, at 1080m, where we spend the night. Quite early on Sunday morning we set off. The trek is suitable for experienced and fit hikers only. More details on the route are to be announced earlier in June.
Sunday 30th
Keralimaniotissa Gorge
Leader: Zoumboulia Volonaki • Hiking time: 5hrs • Difficulty rating: 1+
An easy but impressive gorge full of short but continuous 15 rappel descents, not longer than 15m. We start from a point on the road between Kalami village and the beach of Psari Forada, in the south of Heraklion region. At first we move on a dirt road, then we go down a slope to reach the gorge entrance. The walking takes 1 hour and the crossing of the gorge 4.
