a. Cape Sidero

Sunday 4th February 2024

We are visiting the Northeasternmost point of Crete. It is named after the monastery of St. Isidoros, which was founded by monks from Egypt. Nowadays there is a chapel there that celebrates on 4th February every year. However, access is forbidden to the public because the area is a military base of the Greek Navy. The only day that access is free is on theSaint’s Name Day, 4th February.

We are visiting the place and then we hike for about three hours in the area.
