42nd Pancretan Mountaineering Event – Arkadi

Once every year all Cretan mountaineers meet on a mountain to socialise and hike together. This year this event is organised by the Mountaineering Club of Rethymnon and takes place in the area of Arkadi, near Rethymnon.

On Saturday we reach the camping site and set up our tents. Later there are greetings and gift exchanges between the Clubs. Then dinner and a fest follow.

On Sunday there are two choices: 1. A two-hour guided tour of the Eleftherna archaeological site, or 2.  a 6-hour hike up to the top of Mt Mavrou, at 984m a.s.l.

The event ends at 16.00.

Participants must have their own tent, sleeping bag and cutlery. There are toilets and running water at the campsite.
