b. Vrachasi-Anavlochos
Sunday, October 1st, 2023
A circular route that is organised for the first time by our Club.
Starting from the village of Vrachasi at 360m a.s.l., we follow a dirt road that leads us to some old windmills. Then, an old path leads us to the ridge of Mt Anavlochos. We move along the ridge and on our way we come across the ruins of a Minoan city from the 9th to 6th century B.C. We continue to the top of the mountain, at 623m a.s.l. and admire the view.
On the way back, we pass by the contemporary excavation site and, following a clear trail, we reach the village of Vrachasi.
