Our starting point is Psychro, at 460m a.s.l., situated between the villages of Schinokapsala and Agios Ioannis of Ierapetra.

We plan to make an exciting hike ascending the peaks of Thrypti mountain, namely Afentis, the highest peak of Thrypti at 1476m., Kliros, the second highest peak at 1331m. and Papoura, at 1188m. The view from the peaks is amazing: we can see the whole bay of Mirabello with its islets, the eastern side of Dikti, the Libyan Sea (from Myrtos to Gogoura), Gaidoronisi and Koufonisi, as well as the mountains of Sitia.

We end up in the village of Orino, where we take the bus back to Heraklion.
