A hike for fit and experienced hikers in the White Mountains.
We start from Omalos Plateau, at 1080m a.s.l. and small trucks take us higher in the area of Kallergi Refuge, at 1680m. We hike up on Melidaou Peak, where we have great views over Samaria Gorge and the Libyan Sea. Then we hike down to an area called Potami, where we spend the night in sleeping bags.
On Sunday we cross the beautiful and wild Elygia Gorge. We end on the southern coast and take the coastal E4 trail to Agia Roumeli. Then we take the boat to Chora Sfakion and the bus back to Ηeraklion.
