Ai Giannis – Drakoulaki Cave

Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th September 2016

Ahike on the southern slopes of the White Mountains in western Crete.

We set off on Saturday afternoon to Ai Giannis village, at 768m a.s.l., where we spend the night in rooms or tents.

Early on Sunday morning we start our uppoing hike. We reach the Drakoulaki Cave in three hours and we explore the first 400m of its total 1900m length.

For the way back there are two optons: a) We continue a bit further, enter the upper part of Aradena Gorge and cross it until the unique trail that leads up to Aradena village. b) We go back following the same root.
